PYRENEES
Andorra
How lucky to live in Barcelona, isn't it? Summer or winter, you have the Pyrenees right in your back yard. And in the city itself, you have the beach.
I had wanted to visit Andorra a few years earlier (2018), but was denied the rental car when the agency pointed out my driving license had expired! I had never thought of checking that.. Unlike with your passport, you know when it expires since you enter those dates when booking a flight or so.Â
So that trip failed, but here I was three years later. Same idea. From Barcelona into Andorra for a long weekend. I booked a hotel in a little town called Ordino. One day we hiked the area of Estany Primer de Pessons, the other day Estany de Tristaina.
From being on top of the mountain - border edge between Andorra and France - at 10:00 in the morning. We headed down. Grabbed a coffee and a lomo con queso before the drive home to make it back on time to enjoy sangria at the Playa at 16:00 in the afternoon.
Good life!
