Bethlehem

A few years prior, at work, we held a little internal competion among our team. The idea was that, as everyone fanned out over the summer break to their home country, everyone would bring something back with them. Each item would then be offered as a 'price' for weekly games that were played. I won twice that summer. 

One of the prices I earned was a coffee mug from Bethlehem. A simple tourist gift. My Palestinian colleague - she was from Ramallah - had brought it with. I obviously knew about Bethlehem; the birth place of Jesus, but I had never known it was in Palestine.
